Napier Urgent Care (formerly City Medical), a leading and trusted provider of urgent and after-hours care for more than 25 years, is seeking a Medical Director to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a role that contributes to the health and wellbeing of our community. Each year, our team delivers urgent and after-hours care to more than 36,000 patients, spanning a broad spectrum of clinical complexity and acuity.
The Medical Director role sits within our Senior Management team and is supported by our Clinical Governance Committee.
The Opportunity
As Medical Director, you will:
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team.
- Drive clinical excellence and innovation.
- Partner with the Board, GM, and Senior Management to deliver strategic goals.
- Provide hands-on clinical leadership in a busy urgent care centre.
- Champion high-quality, patient-centred, innovative and culturally responsive models of care.
This is a full-time role (1FTE), based in Napier, with some after-hours requirements.
About You
You will bring clinical credibility, proven leadership, and a commitment to advancing urgent care. Specifically, you will be:
- An experienced and respected clinician with leadership capability.
- A holder of a current MCNZ Practising Certificate, legally able to practise in NZ.
- Committed to high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care.
- Experienced in management and clinical governance.
- Ideally a current or pending Fellow of the RNZCUC (preferred but not essential).

MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST
Napier Urgent Care is looking for a well organised and detail-oriented receptionist with a warm and cheerful personality, to join our friendly team.
The position is a multi-tasking role which includes providing a welcoming face for the organisation, excellent telephone and customer service skills as well as a broad range of administrative duties.
Responsibilities include reception of patients, associated clerical work, answering telephone calls, invoicing, receiving payments, general office duties, and assisting in the smooth running of the centre. We need a quick learner who adapts easily to change.
The essentials for this position include exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills, in an often-high pressure environment, accurate data entry, attention to detail, flexibility in working hours and the ability to work both autonomously and cohesively as part of a team. Experience with Evolution software and immediate availability is strongly preferred.
This role is currently 25 – 32 hours per week, working revolving shifts including daytime, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays between the hours of 7.45am and 8:15pm. There may be opportunity for additional hours in the future.

URGENT CARE DOCTOR
Napier Urgent Care is the leading provider of Urgent and After- Hours Care services for Napier and has been delivering care to the local community for over 25 years. We are looking for passionate and experienced clinicians to help the organisation grow and continue to provide high quality, evidence based care to our presenting population. Napier Urgent Care enjoys a good case-mix of pathology ranging from pediatric through to elderly ensuring you will never get bored! We are an RNZCUC accredited practice with training registrars, a nurse prescriber program, onsite ultrasound for POCUS and regular peer review/daily teaching. We are actively recruiting health care associates and pride ourselves on developing people to the best of their ability.
